I am very sorry to have to inform everyone that Monty Oum has passed away. I am not sure what else to say, just that I'm sure everyone here is grieving.
You can read Matt's Journal here (the site is taking a of traffic so you might have to wait before reading it).
Rest in piece, Monty. We'll miss you.
Edit:
Guys this does not mean the show is over. You have to remember that RWBY (just like RVB) has its own staff of animators that work the show. Its not Monty that animates the whole thing on his own. Not to mention that Miles and Kerry are the ones in charge of the writing of the show. Monty was the Creator and the one who helped push
Remembering Monty.
Hello, everyone. Even though most of us did not know Monty Oum personally, I can tell that we are all grieving over his passing. I can say for myself that so far this week I couldn't get him off my mind.
It's important that even as we move on, we reflect on why we love Monty so much. I have taken the time to collect all of the responses the Rooster Teeth people have put out this pass week. If you don't have a twitter or Rooster Teeth account, this is for you. It's a huge list, so I'll link it all on the bottom.
We have gotten a HUGE amount of RIP art, so we are opening a new folder just for those pieces. All of the work
My friend shared this video to warn other artists about how she was taken advantage of, and I believe this is a very important message that every artist should hear.

It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. He said he might print up to 50,000 books, so that's like an

A young girl once asked a blind man, "Can you see?"
"Why, no, silly girl," the man replied. "I'm blind."
"I know that. Can you see?"
The man thought hard. He couldn't remember one moment when he had vision. "I'm sorry, my girl, but my eyes are broken. I don't understand what you mean."
"I guess you can't then..." The girl sighed, defeated.
She spent her whole life searching. She learned many languages and toured many countries during her mission, but none brought her to who she was looking for. One day, when she was old and retired, she sat on her front porch, feeling the soft breeze blow through her hair and listening to the soft c

~random-artist101 asks, "What brought you to deviantART?"
Awesome for a first question, I was brought to deviantART by a group of artists that I knew in an Oekaki/PaintChat site called "BakaNeko." I used to draw a bunch of landscapes there and everyone
